Our bodies are all so different from person to person, we’re all unique with our very own strengths and weaknesses, and that’s why the experience of doing Pilates is different for everyone. We have a wide variety of people coming to Rejuvenate Pilates and so we want to share with you some of the different experiences our clients are having. To start it off we have Kelsey, who is 27 and has been doing pilates for only a few weeks! Take it away Kelsey ?
“ I have been asked to share how Pilates has changed my body and how it has affected my lifestyle. Before getting into Pilates I would have liked to say that I lived a very active lifestyle, although I have never been overly focused on losing weight, it has always been more about wanting to feel good and healthy. Over the years I have been trying to understand how to get my body into shape and how to actually feel energised after working out! I found that I would try running or some other kind of work out, but I always gave up before I saw any changes in my body. I also don’t think I did any of it the correct way because I wouldn’t say it was a “good” pain after my attempted workouts!
Each time I became hooked on certain types of exercises I’m always focused on the end result. How much weight have I lost? Am I any faster or stronger? Since doing Pilates at Rejuvenate in Maroochydore I’ve really noticed how much stronger and how much more aware of my body I am.
But there is something very different about Pilates and the core values of why we even do it. It is so much more than a number or a waist size, it’s about understanding your body and how to work in unity with each muscle, having a holistic view on each movement. It is a totally different way to look at exercising… and I love it!!
Over the past few weeks I have tried four of the different classes that Rejuvenate offers; Reformer, Mat, TRX and Barre. Each one has totally kicked my butt and has showed me that even though I thought I was “fit” there is a huge difference when using core strength and activating your muscles properly! Honestly I leave each class feeling so good and so fresh, I have loved learning how to push myself and tone my body as a whole!
It has been great having smaller classes because the instructors can give me the attention I need to make sure that I am doing each movement correctly (and not giving up too early!!). Rejuvenate Pilates offers such a positive perspective on what it means to be healthy and fit with such a lovely group of people! I always look forward to my classes!! Thanks Rejuvenate Pilates! ”
